Tandy 5000 anyone?

Doesn’t this bring back memories. Can’t believe how much computers use to cost. This one’s a “lightning fast 20 mhz” and is dated 1989.

  • I'm fairly familiar with the Tandy line, as I learned on them and the Commodores, and I have to say that must be canadian or australian dollars or something, ESPECIALLY since they don't mention the hard drive. From the press release:

The Tandy 5000 MC (Catalog number 25-6000) has a suggested retail price of $4,999 for the base system without a hard drive, and $6,499 for a 40 Mb hard drive version. The Tandy 5000 MC with the 84 Mb hard drive and ST-506 controller has a suggested retail price of $6,999.

Yep, this sure brings back memories. I was in Boston last week and saw the Timex Sinclair ZX80 computer on display at the Museum of Science. I almost purchased one when it came out, but I purchased the Commodore 64 instead.
  • I remember when that came out. That was the coolest thing ever. (if you were into computers back then)

That brings back some memories of computer class and BASIC programming. lol
