For $350, Miles can poop in luxury. I saw this on Amazon today and then it appeared on Gizmodo . Guess those guys are cat lovers too.
The innovative CatGenie Self Washing/Self Flushing Cat Box revolutionizes cat sanitation by eliminating the need to scoop, clean, and dispose of messy litter. Waste removal is dust, germ, odor, and hassle-free! Uses permanent, washable granules that are automatically washed and dried after each use. Liquids drain through the granules and solid waste is scooped, liquefied, and deposited into the hopper where both are flushed with fresh water down any toilet or sink drain.
When we first had Miles, we hurriedly purchased one of those automatic litter dispensers and it proved to be a nightmare trying to clean it out… it ended up being more hastle than it was worth. The problem with small spaced litter box like that is there is a good chance that the cat would miss the litter area and accidentally do it on the floor (or half on the floor/box). I definitely agree with Blake from Crunchgear’s humorous BUT true reason why this one is just not a good idea … “Cats are weird with litter boxes. They might get in it, but if it’s small, they’ll gladly just crap over the side (then they’ll scrape the floor to cover it with nothing).”
Hmmm, for that kind of money and then the extra cost to install the piping too, I think I’ll stick with the normal way of disposing his poop — a scoop and the litter locker.
