Fator deserves it
Posted by The Foo in And everything else...

There was a sigh of relief watching America’s Got Talent yesterday, 14 year old Julienne Irwin did NOT win.

It really annoys me that she is a 14 year old trying to act like a 40 year old. Kids need to act their age … they are only that age once. Face it, you are a kid… be one! No one is going to hold that against you. And stop dressing like a 40 year old, your time will come. I believe the American audience saw that too, hence her being voted off first.

Cas Haley and Butterscotch were pretty good and it was a real tough choice for the winner. I am pretty sure they’ll have a bright future ahead of them.

I was glad that the winner was not a singer as there are just too many singing reality shows out there. I loved the winner Terry Fator’s ventriloquist act from the very beginning. I may be a little biased towards puppets (another one of my secret likes, together with the Muppets) but you do have to admit, the guy has tremendous talent in making his puppets sound like the actual voice of famous singers e.g. Tony Bennet, Roy Orbison, and more.

I nearly fell of my chair when Kermit and some of the Muppets (Animal, Beaker, The Swedish Chef and Miss Piggy) made an appearance. Was also rolling on the floor when Kermit brought out his backup chicken singers (Camilla & friends). Hilarious!

Forgettable moment of the night — David Hasselhoff singing. I felt like hitting myself on the head with a baseball bat. No offense David, you were better in Knight Rider (as cheezy as you were) and I am still not sure how you managed to be a Sex God in Germany.

  • For sure! I don't watch it since I'm not in the country, but sometimes at the end of our tuesday night bible studies we gather round and share our favourite You Tube vids. We saw Terry and thought it was cool, then I was excited to find out that the season was still going! Glad he won. Cas Haley seemed good too, I'm sure someone will want to offer him a CD deal or something, with that much publicity.
  • Janet: somehow J got me watching it, and I continued to watch it because I wanted to see the puppeteer win (which he did).

T: That's interesting to hear. When I was living in Asia -- Hasselhoff was touted as a sensation in Germany too. So somehow it wasn't just the Americans unless the Asian media followed the American media -- which could be very likely. But coming from a German, I'll have to believe you rather than anyone else. About Hasselholf himself spreading the rumor, I won't be suprised! lol. Funny about his nickname too.
  • Thanks for the link Foo. I have not been watching this show. It is clear he deserved the prize.
  • swedish chef was just classic! ... didn't even understand a word he said. he didn't like kermit's singing. lol
  • OMG I missed the swedish chef and beaker?! Doh, must find this on youtube!
