Dear teacher …
Posted by The Foo in And everything else...

My wife, who is a teacher, started her school year today. I just want to take this opportunity to wish her good luck!

I also have to mention that ever since I married (a teacher), I have a new found respect and appreciation for them. I can’t believe how much work they have to do and the tough behavioral situations they face all year round. Honestly, I don’t think they get paid enough compared to the amount of stressful/ pressured situations they face.

I used to think that teachers had it easy i.e. teach for 9-10 months and have the rest of the year off (paid). I now see that they almost HAVE to take the 2+ months off to “recuperate” and get their energy up for the next school year. I can’t even imagine taking care of 20+ young kids and still keeping my sanity.

So, for the teachers out there – all of you are great, an asset to society and keep up the good work. Each and everyone of you have the gift to touch one’s heart and guide us to what we have become today (positively). Good luck in the current school year!

To my previous teachers – sorry for being mischievous, getting into trouble and making classroom time a living hell for you.

I so agree.........teachers cultivate an interest in life-long learning.

A bad teacher can put you off a subject even when you are good at it. Good teachers inspire and encourage us to reach our potential. Bad teachers simply set you up to fail.

A big thank you to all the GOOD teachers out there for trying hard and of course, this is directed at my sis-in-law too!
  • The greatest satisfaction is when your ex-students still remember you dropping you a mail or sms to update you what's going on. It gives me great pleasure to hear from them everytime.

Like recently, I conducted some lessons on ecommerce and am pleased that some of the students want to know more about blogging and how it can integrate into ecommerce that I decided to start one for them. It does feel good to know that they enjoy it.
  • Teachers are one of the core fundamentals of our society. They open up new possibilities and offer the next generation a bright future. Thanks for passing by my blog :) And for giving me a heads up on 2Checkout.....
  • it takes a special kind of person to do it well...
  • I so agree Foo, teachers are completely underappreciated. Much gratitude from me towards your wife and all the teachers out there trying to make a difference.

Oh, and I once again found it really tough to pick just one renter. I did give you a shoutout though and hope you'll bid again.
  • I agree; I have boundless respect for teachers. It's a job that I don't think I can do, myself!!
  • I also have a lot of respect for teachers, despite not being married to one. :) It's ridiculous that they aren't paid more!
